“Take care of your body. It’s the only place you have to live.” - Jim Rohn

We urge you to take responsible measures to protect yourself, your family and your community during this global pandemic. Here are 4 steps you can take to lower your risk for exposure:

Wear a Mask

We are in the midst of a global pandemic with no reliable curative treatments — we must rely on prevention to keep ourselves, our families and our communities healthy. This means we have to act responsibly — wear masks, social distance, remain vigilant about hygiene. We cannot let our guard down - this pandemic has already claimed the lives of hundreds of thousands of people and many more have suffered significant permanent damage. It is up to each of us to make it a priority to keep ourselves and each other safe. No one is immune to this disease.

Wash your Hands

With flu season just starting we need to be extra vigilant about hand hygiene. Wash your hands frequently! It is recommended to use soap + water and lather for at least 20 seconds. Avoid touching your face as both the COVID and Flu viruses gain entry through mucous membranes.

Get Tested

If you feel sick or have had an exposure to a COVID+ person and are concerned about acquiring the disease - get tested! It’s best to know if you’re infected to take extra precautions to avoid transmission to others. If you test positive it is recommended that you quarantine in isolation for 10-14 days (refer to the CDC and your local department of health guidelines for exact instructions).

Get your Flu Shot

Unless you have an allergy to the influenzae vaccine, you should get one every year! This year is more important than ever to get one because of the compounded risk with the COVID pandemic. The flu vaccine does not protect you from all strains of the virus but does protect you from the most prevalent strain(s) of the year (read more on the CDC’s website: Selecting Viruses for the Seasonal Influenzae Vaccine).
